The digital sphere is not just about pushing out generic information to the community. Greater opportunities exist to engage residents in their quality of life decisions. This session will highlight how Orange County Government has embraced the concept of digital communications and citizen engagement through social media, mobile apps, its website and OCFL Newsroom. By increasing access online, residents are able to obtain important information, updates, request services, report issues and watch meetings at their convenience on their mobile phones. Transforming digital communications played a role in successfully communicating critical information to the community, residents and local partners during hurricanes Irma, Matthew and the Pulse nightclub tragedy. Attendees will learn how to connect with Orange County and why it is important to engage with local government.
