Laresa Tapia

Laresa Tapia invented the award-winning Polyblox, a patented STEAM/socio-emotional EdGate certified educational ABC language product. Polyblox is distributed worldwide in public and private schools, museum gift shops, specialty boutiques, online and in retail outlets such as Barnes & Noble Fall 2019 and has partnered with UCF, Amazing Explorers and several global business leaders. In the past, she served as the Director of Operations for a Montessori her duties included overseeing the complete rebranding of the new LEED Platinum school. As Course Director at Full Sail University, Laresa taught courses such as Entrepreneurship, Media Design and Leadership at both the bachelor’s and master’s level. While at Full Sail she was nominated for the “Artistic Contribution” Award. She also helped Full Sail students launch school chapters for organizations such as Toastmasters and AIGA. She served as an ACE Pitch Awards Judge and International Business Pitch Judge.

An Orlando native, Laresa earned her MBA in Management and E-Commerce at Rollins College, Crummer Graduate School of Business and received a “Trailblazer Award” from her peers. After graduate school, Laresa was invited back and served as a Crummer Alumni business mentor to MBA candidates. She has also served multiple times on the board of the Orlando chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and was the National Membership Drive Winner and a NAWBO PropelHER Business Pitch finalist and 2019 PropelHER Preliminary Judge.

In addition to being President at Polyblox, she currently does business consulting, public speaking and curates at Orlando Museum of Art for the 1st Thursday Committee. She volunteers her time with special needs children and within educational initiatives. Laresa is a founding member of Women in Toys, Central Florida Chapter. She was a 2018 Judge for the NY Serious Play Gaming Conference. She is passionate about STEAM and empathy in education, technology and supporting women in business.
