Rob is an avid entrepreneur, managed a number of successful companies and raised over $75 million in venture capital thought out his career. Most recently he was founder, Chairman and CEO of Channel Intelligence (CI), which sold to Google for $125m to become the core of Google shopping and was considered the most signifiant e-commerce acquisition of 2012.

Wight led the development of the products and services that built CI into one the world’s leading e-commerce technology providers, relied on by over 200 manufacturers and retailers across every product vertical and managing millions of product transactions valued at over $3 billion annually. At its peak Channel Intelligences was involved in one out of every 5 sales online.

Prior to Channel Intelligence, Rob was a Director at Microsoft working on the Windows team during the period from Windows 95 through Windows 2000. He was recognized as one of the 20 most influential people in the storage software business, having held senior positions at key technology corporations including Microsoft, Wang Labs, Avail Systems, Seagate Software, Conner Software Products, Archive Software and Maynard Electronics.

Rob is currently involved with a number of early stage companies and is a partner in the early stage investment firm Aweida Ventures.
