Shannon Pastizzo is the Director of Business Development with Synapse. She began her extensive career by identifying the financial needs of healthcare clients and then recommending the most appropriate programs for a financial institution in central Connecticut. Her more recent experiences involved creating and orchestrating initiatives to improve marketing and business development. These strategies proved to be professional, imaginative, and successful by creating significant benefits for both the business and the consumer.
Shannon boasts an impressive background that includes marketing and strategic planning as well as business strategy and analysis. Her other talents include: social media, event planning, public relations, financial planning, profit analysis, business development and vendor relations/negotiations. Because of her extensive set of skills, Shannon has won four consecutive Marketing Excellence Awards that considered candidates across the entire state of Connecticut.
In addition, she was the Director of Figure Skating at the International Skating Center of Connecticut for a number of years. During this time, Shannon was in charge of overseeing the Learn to Skate program, hiring, managing, mentoring, and coaching a team of amateur skaters as well as professional skating coaches. During her time there, the Center increased enrollment by 80% and earned recognition as a Top 100 program in the USA.
She has developed tremendous communication skills and exhibits an uncanny ability to match the needs of a diverse community with the capabilities of existing systems. Shannon often invents new programs and modifies existing ones. Her desire to be on a team of visionaries working tirelessly to improve Florida’s entrepreneurial ecosystem is a perfect match for her win-win approach.
Shannon graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. She is also a Certified Financial Counselor. Shannon recently moved to the Tampa Bay area but sees this as a wonderful opportunity to “meet and greet” many interesting people. She lives in the Tampa area with her husband Gary and her two children: Mitchell and Lexi.
